About DGC

Divot Golf Club is built for golfers, by golfers. DGC is a single bay, private golf simulator located in Sandy, Utah.  Whether your main goal is to drop strokes from the scorecard, or play one of the 300+ courses, this is the place for you. DGC works hard to be the best private golf simulator in Sandy and surrounding areas to keep our members happy. We don’t nickel and dime you for snacks or drinks like the other guys. Drinks and snacks are included with your membership. Plus, we have the best view of all golf simulators in the wasatch front.

Golfers are spoiled in Utah. We have so many great courses to play and they’re all kept really nice. However, many of the ranges are lackluster and don't have the technology necessary to help with intricate parts of the game of golf. Not to mention, the range on a 100 degree day is rough. Then there’s also winter. For a few years, we were spoiled to have very little snow, so golf was an option at least ¾ of the year. Now that we’re back into a snowy winter rotation, golfing and golf practice get put away completely for 4 to 6 months.

I wanted to be able to practice and play golf all year long and I knew I wasn’t the only one feeling that way. Driving to Mesquite every weekend also wasn’t an option. I started looking into solutions on how to be able to golf year round, while staying in Salt Lake County. Then I found the answer: Golf simulators.

Golf Simulators have been around for a few years but they’re now growing in popularity like crazy. Many people have them in their homes but many other people have memberships to private golf simulators. I checked out multiple different locations, but found I was getting nickeled and dimed for small things such as a can of soda or a small bag of chips.

So I set out to create a space that everyone could enjoy, thus Divot Golf Club was created. After hours of research and testing different launch monitors and software, I found that Trackman TM4 and the Trackman Performance Studio software was the way to go.They are the most popular, and most trusted across the golf industry. Most swing coaches and club fitters use Trackman. Plus, if you look at the PGA Tour range, you can see Trackman TM4’s all over the place. If it’s good enough for the pro’s it's good enough for me!

Divot Golf Club opened its doors May 10, 2023. Our members have loved it every day since opening. We have many people that sign up to be able to play the courses, but they end up staying for the practice opportunities. Practicing golf shots on the range is great, but practicing with Trackman is what changes your game.
Many of our members bring their employees or even clients to the club. It is a great space for hosting meetings, and that’s part of the reason we decided to go with only one simulator bay. The one private bay is great for important meetings with clients, family time or focusing on your golf game.

Sign up for your membership before we fill up and start dropping your score! Or sign up for a free trial to make sure it’s a good fit for you, but it is hard to say no after using the Trackman!

DGC memberships cap at 35 a month. Each membership has 3 hours that can be booked concurrently, (one 3 hour session, three 1 hour sessions, etc) so that all of our members have a chance to schedule their time and play some golf. After one hour is used, that hour can then be rebooked. There is no cap on how many hours that can be booked by a member in a month.

About the Owner

I’m Brennen, owner of Divot Golf Club. I am a Utah native that grew up in Herriman. I’ve been married to my wife Ryan for four years now. I work as a heavy duty diesel technician and have been doing so for about 7 years. I didn’t start golfing until July of 2021, but I’ve been hooked since my first round at Mulligans in South Jordan.

I have always had an interest in business and have always dreamed of starting a business. I looked around for years for what business would be a good fit for me and I finally found it, Divot Golf Club. I wanted to cultivate an environment where golfers can practice their game or play fun courses, year round. Many people think that golf simulators are only good in the winter, and that couldn’t be further from the truth. Golf simulators are exceptionally useful in the summer when it’s 95+ degrees out and you want to play or practice  but don’t want to get too hot.

I currently shoot in the 90’s and sometimes in the 100’s but I’m slowly improving. The Trackman simulator has helped my swing and ball striking so much, my main focus now needs to be putting.

I started renovations for the golf simulator in February of 2023 and finally finished in April 2023. Over the last couple years that I’ve been working on DGC, I have learned so much and met some great people. One of my favorite things about DGC is meeting all the people that come in for a free trial or that sign up for a membership. Everybody is so unique and comes from different places and I love hearing their stories.

Some things about me

Favorite golfer: Max Homa or Tony Finau

Home course: Riverbend Golf Course

Favorite course near DGC: Riverbend, South Mountain, Stone Bridge or Fox Hollow are my favorite courses within about a 30 minute drive of DGC

Favorite courses I’ve played: Black Desert Resort is by far my favorite course I’ve played. I played it in November of 2023 and it was immaculate. The way the course is blended with all the lava rock is amazing, but then all the views of the surrounding red rock are breathtaking. And they have some of the most comfortable golf cart seats I’ve sat on.

Gladstan in Payson is a favorite and is much more affordable than Black Desert Resort and much closer. I love the few elevated tee boxes and really love the back 9 in the mountains

Bountiful Ridge is my next favorite. It’s the nicest municipal course that I’ve played. The fairways and greens have always been in great condition every time I’ve been.

Favorite Golf Ball: Right now I enjoy the Kirkland Signature balls or any I find OB, the price is too hard to beat. I lose too many balls to play anything nicer

Dream Golf Courses to Play: The three courses that come to mind right away are:

Pebble Beach. I’d shoot 120+ here easily, but I’d still enjoy it.

Augusta National: Everyone wants to play this course, just being able to say you’ve played this course is a huge flex and something that would be unique. If I went out and shot 150 I’d still be happy.

The Reserve at Moonlight Basin: I’ve played this on the simulator and it's a great course. But seeing pictures of what the course actually is like makes the itch to go that much worse. The fairways and greens look great, the views on top of the mountains are astonishing and the course being at about 7,500 ft of elevation, with elevated tee boxes and downward sloped fairways is the perfect setup for massive drives.

Cour d’Alane: Once again, another course that has great views. I’m a sucker for golf with a view. The course being right on the lake is cool, but then the floating island par 3 has got to be one of the coolest holes available to non-professional golfers.

Other interests: Cars, trucks and planes. I also like sports with college football being my favorite.
